Being a versatile artist Adam Koch has already made appearances in high-profiled venues as soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster/leader conducting orchestras.
Adam Koch (b.2000) started playing violin at age 5, he began his studies with Professor Serguei Azizian in 2013. The following years he received prizes in several national and international competitions and began his studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music at age 16. After studies in Copenhagen with professors as Azizian, Professor Eszter Haffner and guest Professor Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, Adam got his master’s degree with highest acclaim at Hanns Eisler Musichochschule in Berlin with Professor Kolja Blacher. Adam is now following the advanced post graduate programme in Copenhagen. Adam is prize winner in e.g. Tibor Varga international Violin Competition (2019), J. Brahms Competition, Pörtschach (2020) and W.A. Mozart Competition, Salzburg (2020) having also attended masterclasses with Leonidas Kavakos, Mihaela Martin, Ana Chumachenko, Pinchas Zukerman, and Gerhard Schulz among others. Adam Koch has performed as soloist with Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Leopoldinum String Orchestra among others.
As a chamber musician in demand Adam Koch has played with well-known soloists as Andreas Brantelid, Yura Lee, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Marianna Shirinyan and Antje Weithaas and also performing frequently with musical friends of his own generation in Denmark as Gustav Piekut, Jonathan and Nicholas Swensen.
A part of Adam’s ambitions, interest in contemporary music, and commitment to the composers’ scores Adam has attended conducting classes at Malko Conducting School (2019-2021) in association with Danish National Symphony where he has participated in masterclasses with a.o. maestro Herbert Blomstedt (2021). 2024-25 offered the opportunity to conduct and premier new pieces by acclaimed Danish Composer Bent Sørensen at Frederiksberg Festspil and by Danish Composer Ole Buck with the Danish Chamber Players.
